Coronavirus (COVID-19) - Health and Saftey Policy

Updated: 24.3.2021

UK Culture Secretary announced that Film Production can continue during the 3rd National Lockdown (currently due to ease 28.2.21). Haworth Weddings will continue to work with a professional cast and crew on small production.

BEFORE PRODUCTION:

1. You will be required to complete a Covid19 self-declaration survey prior to shooting where you indicate the following:

  • You have had no symptoms within the previous 10 days
  • You are not shielded or have any underlying condition
  • You haven’t been in contact with anyone showing symptoms within the previous 14days.

We will be asking every staff member and freelancer to fill out this survey to assess risk for themselves and others. This MUST be filled out every time you start a new production with Haworth Weddings in case your personal situation changes in between productions.

2. If you are concerned that your role on set may require being within two meters of other colleagues please flag before production commences, so solutions can be discussed and actioned. (Exceptions for makeup and Hair section 14)

3. Avoid using locations that have been recently occupied. Some shoots may require a deep cleaning company to be hired to clean the set/location before filming. The film commission guidelines update, published 6.1.21, state that "Filming can continue to take place in the premises of businesses that are closed to the general public due to the lockdown.” This includes hotels and Air B and B type apartments. Filming within private homes is not permitted.

4. Where overnight stays cannot be avoided, single occupancy accommodation should be obtained and the hygiene and social distancing measures at the venue confirmed before use.

5. Travel arrangements should be prepared well in advance of production. If driving (ideally single occupancy), ensure there is parking available ahead of production. Fuel should be purchase using the pay at the pump facility. If using public transport wash hands and wear required facial coverings.

6. Prepare all of your own food, drinks before the start of each day as it is unlikely catering will be offered. We will provide per diems ahead of production to ensure food and drink can be purchased before production commences.

7. If your role involves bringing any personal equipment to and from the set please ensure all equipment is thoroughly cleaned/wiped down before and after each day of production. Only one person should be handling this equipment per production.

8. If you live near a local rapid test centre (for people without coronavirus symptoms), which can provide results within 30 mins, then we recommend you take a test the day before the shoot and share the results with your producer as soon as possible. If the test results are negative please self-isolate until you arrive on set.

PLEASE READ THE RISK ASSESSMENT AND CALL SHEET THOROUGHLY TO ENSURE YOU AND YOUR COLLEAGUES ARE AS PROTECTED AS POSSIBLE.

DURING PRODUCTION

1. Where possible physically maintain 2m separation between individuals, this implies 4m Squared per person in a clear space or 6m Squared in a space with furniture or equipment.

2. It is essential that everyone involved in the production apply good practice in terms of infection control. Good practice is to:

  • Wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds.
  • Not touching the face as much as possible.
  • Use soap and water of hand sanitiser when you: get home or into work, blow yournose, sneeze or cough, eat or handle food
  • Minimise the touching of shared surfaces (e.g. door-handles, keyboards, table topsetc).

3. We will provide a sanitiser station for each production, but it is recommended you bring your own if you can.

4. If filming inside we will ask you to wear facial coverings – please flag any issues with this to your producer. If masks are worn they should ideally be of the FFP2/3 type. We can provide packs containing hand gel, disinfectant wipes and masks for cast and crew.

5. Temperature checks will be taken of all cast and crew on arrival and monitored throughout the day. Anyone with a raised temperature (37.8c) should be sent home by private transport.

6. If you start showing symptoms in the lead-up, during production or 7 days after production please inform your producer immediately. Anyone on set who develops symptoms will be sent home immediately by private transport, asked to take a Covid19 test and the appropriate sanitation steps taken. If the individual tests positive everyone on set in close contact will be informed and given appropriate advice. See Test and Trace system.

7. A one-way system will be devised with a clear exit route out and indicated through signs and stickers on each production.

8. Productions should use the absolute minimum number of essential people on set. Visitors should be avoided and if unavoidable by appointment only. The Producer should be made aware of the exact time of their arrival ahead of time.

9. If on standby please move to assigned holding areas if available rather than occupying areas that are directly adjacent to filming activity.

10. All areas should be kept well ventilated with doors and windows open and cast and crew should be allowed to take regular breaks for fresh air.

11. Equipment should only be handled by designated department members to avoid any potential cross-contamination. Any equipment that is shared must be fully sanitised before being past to another member of the cast or crew.

12. When it is not possible to maintain social distancing for certain tasks (i.e. make-up artists) it is recommended that crewmembers wear masks. These masks should ideally be of the FFP2/3 type and are different from cloth facial coverings.

13. Dedicated eating areas should be identified on-site to reduce contamination. They must be large enough to allow crew to sit at safe distance.

14. Cleaning equipment, facial coverings or anything used to negate the spread of Covid19 should be thrown into a specific bin, double bagged, stored securely for 72 hours and then disposed of as general waste.

15. Please don’t be afraid to remind everyone on the set of their duties to protect others.

16. Be aware of the mental health of yourself and others during these challenging times.
